Finding Love in my Life

February is the month of love. It’s a month of cultural celebration. It’s also the anniversary of this blog! This last year and the ones before that brought me to start this journey have been a whirlwind, but in that time I’ve found love. A love for myself, a love for the people around me, and a love for this life. I think we take life for granted far too often and even more than that, we take our privileges for granted. It so easy to get caught up in the negative things day to day, but friends, we have to look for the positives. The weather in Chicago can be tough, but damn I’m blessed to have a roof over my head to protect me from it. My mind and body have been in a bit of a fight this last year with my joint pain, but I had the resources to seek and receive help. I do not have a romantic life and it doesn’t matter because I’m learning more about myself and the importance of self-love. The best part is that I’ve met a TON of amazing people this last year and I couldn’t be more grateful for the community of creators in this city.

This week I encourage you all to write down one thing you’re grateful for each day because we can never get enough gratitude in your life! I will do that same along with continuing my quest to provide more inspiration in this community. We all have our stuff and that’s okay. We also have the responsibility to do what is necessary to heal our wounds so that we can move forward in life because this is it. We get one shot, so don’t waste your days in the darkness. Let the people that love you help you find that light and a little joy too!

Xoxo
